Step into the world of economic development and innovation with Pascal Le Liboux, President of AudéLor and Vice-President overseeing economic development and employment at Lorient Agglomération.

In an exclusive interview, Le Liboux sheds light on the genesis of the Interceltic Scaling Awards, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at spotlighting innovation within Celtic regions often overshadowed by their larger counterparts. Building upon the foundation laid by the Interceltic Business Forum, this endeavor promises to catalyze collaboration and growth across the six Celtic nations.

Join us as we uncover the motivations driving this innovate event.

Why is now the right time to organize the Interceltic Scaling Awards?

The Interceltic Business Forum has been around for a few years now. Forums, meetings, conferences, and roundtable discussions have marked its recent editions. Transforming these exchanges into business opportunities is the next step. To do this, the competition organized by OCO Global and partners is an excellent catalyst for emulation among startups from the 6 Celtic nations and a first step towards future commercial partnerships.

What should the winners expect?

The winners will receive a cash prize: 20,000 euros for the winner and 5,000 for the second and third place. The winner will also benefit from several months of incubation in another Celtic nation and will be supported in their development by a mentor from that same nation. This should encourage our young entrepreneurs to participate in the first Interceltic Scaling Awards.

Why is it important for the winners to be announced at the Interceltic Business Forum this summer?

The Festival Interceltique de Lorient is the major event that brings together the Celtic diaspora every year. With significant media coverage, the presence of national and regional television, and 950,000 visitors in 2023, what better place to award this very symbolic prize that highlights the close ties between culture and economy.

Furthermore, 2024 is the Year of Celtic Youth at the FIL: a perfect coincidence that should see a young creator crowned during this startup competition, thus respecting the 2024 programming!
