An extension of the Interceltic Business Forum, the competition aims to shine a spotlight on the diverse, innovative and thriving businesses across the Celtic regions, recognising and rewarding Celtic businesses for their ambition and achievements.
With representation from 5 Celtic regions, the Interceltic Scaling Awards final will be hosted in Lorient, Brittany at the Interceltic Business Forum.

The Interceltic Scaling Award provides a fantastic showcase for the Celtic business community, providing the opportunity to engage and network with entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, mentors and advisors.
· 800,000 visitors to the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, home to the Interceltic Business Forum & Interceltic Scaling Awards
· 200 delegates to the Interceltic Business Forum in Lorient, for brand exposure, knowledge sharing and networking
It is an event not to be missed for the entire Celtic region business community.
Applications will be invited via the partner and sponsor organisations from scaling companies in their region.
The most compelling company from each Celtic region will be shortlisted for the final in Lorient, Brittany, on the 12th of August 2024 during the next edition of the Interceltic Business Forum.
Ahead of the final, participants will undergo an interview session with the judges, where they will present their value proposition and answer questions.
The 5 finalists will have their travel and accommodation costs paid to attend the final and participate in the event with attendant PR and networking opportunities as a representative of their nation.
Finalists will receive:
• €5,000 funding support for 2 runners-up
• Extensive marketing and PR before during and after Interceltic Business Forum
• Mentoring of leadership team by OCO Global and partner organisations
• Incubation/soft landing support in another Celtic nation
• Invitation to the Festival Interceltique de Lorient
• Exclusive access to the B2B Interceltic Trade platform powered by OCO Connect
• A trophy
Overall Award winner will receive:
• €20,000 funding
• Extensive publicity
• Invitation to future Interceltic Business Forum events as speaker
• Up to 3 months Incubation support in other Celtic nation of choice
Entry criteria
• HQ in one of the Celtic nations
• Minimum revenue of €250k (or funding if pre-revenue)
• At least 2 years since establishment
• Operating in one of the following industries: Technology, Manufacturing or Services with a sustainability dimension
After the final, every participant will have the opportunity to be profiled on a dedicated showcase webpage connected with the Interceltic Business Forum to raise their profile across the Celtic nations.
Judging process
The judging panel will be composed of experts from Celtic organisations with a demonstrated track record in entrepreneurship, economic development and business internationalization.
This panel will review and score the nominations and shortlist the winning submissions.
They will then be responsible for choosing the winner from the 5 finalists.

These exceptional companies from across the Celtic nations are now advancing to the second round of the judging process, which will determine the ultimate winner.
Given the high quality of applications received from each Celtic region, our judges have decided to extend the pool of finalists to include all the deserving candidates who merit recognition and the opportunity to compete in the finale. As a result, eight Celtic startups have been selected and invited to the finale in Lorient.
